The REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) Categories framework provides a comprehensive, industry-developed structure that supports exercise professionals in their career progression within the health and fitness sector. By offering clearly defined pathways and robust qualification standards, REPs ensures its members can deliver the highest quality of service to clients while enjoying the benefits of professional recognition and development.
We are delighted to introduce our Level 1 category for apprentices and students currently enrolled in a fitness course. This category allows aspiring fitness professionals to be part of the REPs community, gain exposure to the industry, and benefit from resources that support their education and career development.
Level 2 membership marks the starting point for qualified exercise professionals. This category encompasses foundational job roles within the health and fitness sector, such as fitness instructors, group exercise instructors, and Olympic weightlifting coaches. As a Level 2 member, you'll gain access to resources and opportunities that support your growth within the industry.
At Level 3, exercise professionals can expand their expertise by working with specific populations or specialising in areas such as personal training, exercise referral, sports conditioning, and Olympic weightlifting. This level allows members to diversify their skillset and offer tailored services to a broader range of clients.
Level 4 membership is designed for experienced professionals who have demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in areas such as medical exercise, obesity and diabetes management, and lower back pain rehabilitation. At this level, Specialist Instructors are recognised for their expertise and commitment to excellence in the health and fitness sector.
REPs also offers a non-levelled category to accommodate professionals in various career areas within the health and fitness sector. This category includes roles such as Fitness/Tutor Assessor, Fitness Manager, Coaching, Ante/Post Natal, Disability, and Older Adults. It enables members to explore diverse career opportunities and enhance their professional portfolio.
All REPs categories are underpinned by qualifications that signify a member's level of expertise. As you progress through the register and acquire new qualifications, you can elevate your training and expand your professional opportunities. Your qualifications also act as a prerequisite for any continuing professional development (CPD) that you undertake, ensuring that your skills and knowledge are always up-to-date.
REPs insurance covers your new skills at each level, giving you and your clients peace of mind as you advance in your career.
