Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports

The Diverse Trainers Level 3 Sports Massage Qualification is a comprehensive program designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and practical skills required to become a certified sports massage therapist. This course focuses on the specialised techniques and principles used in sports massage therapy to support athletes and individuals engaged in physical activity. Participants will learn how to assess, treat, and provide effective sports massage treatments to aid in injury prevention, recovery, and performance enhancement.
 

Course Overview

You will develop knowledge and understanding about the following topics:

• Anatomy and physiology of the major joints and systems of the body.
• The principles of health and fitness and the effects that exercise has on the body.
• Treatments to support soft tissue repair, the use of cryotherapy, and heat treatments during soft tissue repair.
• Professional practice in sports massage.
• The fundamentals of sports massage treatments and be able to apply, carry out and evaluate sports massage treatments.

Entry Requirments

You should be a minimum of 16 years old to undertake this qualification.

• Unit 3 – Understand the Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction and Injury
• Unit 4 – Understand Professional Practice in Sports Massage Treatments

Blended Learning 

Has been designed for students who want the flexibility to study in their own time and want face-to-face instruction at a chosen location local to them. The qualification is assessed by completing a coursework portfolio and a face-to-face practical assessment. Once you have completed your coursework using our interactive E-learning platform you will be invited to attend a practical weekend. A qualified sports massage tutor will then teach you all the skills, techniques, and applications to enable you to practice sports massage therapy. You will complete your practical assessment on the same weekend.

Online Distance Learning

This has been designed for students who want the flexibility to study in their own time, you can qualify in as little as 8 weeks. The qualification is assessed by completing a coursework portfolio and practical video assessments. The coursework portfolio is completed using our interactive e-learning platform. The practical assessment is completed by attending 16 hours of live virtual teaching delivered via zoom with a qualified Level 3 sports massage tutor. You would then be required to submit a video of your practical assessment.

Upon completion, students are qualified to work as Sports Massage therapists in various fitness settings. The program is accredited by a leading awarding body, Focus Awards ensuring a high standard of training and a fully recognised qualification upon completion.
